It is common for individuals in managerial positions to face challenges or experience a dip in productivity during their careers. Seeking external assistance from executive coaches is beneficial as they specialise in providing the necessary support to leaders, ultimately impacting the organisation's overall performance.
The Executive and Management Coaching online short course offered by the University of Cape Town (UCT) is designed to equip you with the knowledge of essential coaching philosophies and methodologies. This course aims to empower you to manage professional coaching relationships, facilitate various stages of the coaching process and effectively coach clients in the digital age with the aid of technology. The course spans 12 weeks, allowing you to observe five coaching meetings while conducting your own coaching programme with an assigned partner. The practical sessions included in the course are designed to help you develop your coaching competencies and provide you with a platform to grow in confidence and skill.
Is this course for you?
This course can be highly advantageous for individuals interested in pursuing a career in coaching. It caters to both established executive coaches in management seeking to expand their brand and those aspiring to become internal business coaches or external consulting coaches. Additionally, human resource professionals, department heads, and team leaders can benefit from the course by enhancing their ability to mentor and support their staff. While the course primarily focuses on executive coaching, it can also be helpful for those considering a career in other coaching areas.

What past students
think
Vasili Vass
Coach, V-Squared Coaching
The course structure and content allows the student to understand the coaching process while exploring their competencies through coaching a fellow student. The coaching meetings allow the student to put into practice what they have learnt in each module. The practical component builds confidence and cements the knowledge. The website is easy to navigate with the course work and notes, and the assignments were easy to access and upload. For me, the biggest learning has been to trust the coaching process and the client.
