It has been repeatedly demonstrated that businesses benefit significantly from having more women in leadership roles. As a result, addressing gender bias and workplace obstacles has become necessary for organisations, society, and the economy.

The Oxford Women's Leadership Development Programme offered by the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford provides a six-week online programme that allows participants to critically examine their leadership style and strengths. This programme is based on the idea of leadership as a reflective practice, and it is divided into three main themes: self-acceptance, self-management, and self-development.

Through the programme, participants will be able to challenge the gender prejudices that female leaders frequently face, and they will gain the necessary skills to lead, influence, negotiate, and manage difficult situations. This will enable them to become more effective leaders who can bring positive change within their organisations and beyond.

This Oxford Women's Leadership Development Programme is certified by the United Kingdom CPD Certification Service, and may be applicable to individuals who are members of, or are associated with, UK-based professional bodies. The programme has an estimated 70 hours of learning.

This was my first attempt at an online programme. I enjoyed the group discussions as well as the self-reflection pieces, as it forced you to recap what you learned. I learned that I am a leader on a journey to make a positive impact on my surroundings, and having empathy and being able to share my experience is important. A lot of the concepts are things I've either learned about or heard about along my journey, but they weren’t packaged like this programme, so understanding how negotiation and communication fits together, and helps build my leadership style, has been insightful. ‘Be authentic in your leadership style’, as mentioned in video two of Module 6 by Rohini Anand, really resonated with me on how I can be a great leader.

About the certificate

Learn more about women’s leadership development and earn an official certificate of attendance from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with a digital certificate, you’ll need to meet the requirements outlined in the programme handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the programme.

Your digital certificate will be issued in your legal name and sent to you upon successful completion of the programme, as per the stipulated requirements.
