Get a degree in Operations Management
This is dependent on where you want to work, as some organisations are strict with their job requirements, and may want you to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Some organisations may even want you to have a Master’s degree in order to get the job.
Get work experience as an Operations Manager
If you don’t have the time or finances to study a full degree in operations management, you could take up an internship or job shadow position with an operations manager in an existing organisation. This will give you valuable work experience in the field – something that every company values. This will enable you to build your experience for a while before taking an operations management course or an advanced operations management course in order to grow your expertise.
