Meet Your Classmates | University of Cambridge High Impact Leadership

The eight-week University of Cambridge High Impact Leadership online short course is designed to help existing and aspirational leaders to develop and enhance key leadership competencies.

This course aims to provide students from a wide variety of sectors with exposure to new perspectives, knowledge and strategies, enabling them to lead with impact in the rapidly changing modern context.

Using self-reflection and critical thinking practices, students will come to better understand their personal leadership strengths, allowing them to produce positive, sustainable changes in their organisation

What would you say are your most interesting or noteworthy achievements, professionally?

Completing my MSc in medical education and healthcare simulation delivering human factors and team-based medical emergency training.

Why did you choose to take this course?

Online learning and self reflection or critical analysis to further develop myself with an accredited short course certification.

What are you looking forward to most about the course?

Learning the processes that must be actioned for an optimal sustainability impact, as well as becoming part of a community of like-minded individuals.

What message would you like to give to your future classmates and support network?

I feel this course would add value to healthcare and other managers.

What is at the top of your bucket list?

Tour New Zealand and aspire to a director of nursing post within the NHS.

Leadership is a combination of charisma and a set of abilities; it requires agility and vision and is crucial to the success of a business.

What is at the top of your bucket list?

Professionally – to have more impact in the business from an HR business partner role; personally to complete my PhD journey and contribute to the knowledge base of the HR field.

What would you say are your most interesting or noteworthy achievements, professionally?

At a rather young age for my culture, I am currently the Deputy Procurement Manager of the Ghana Cocoa Board, the sole manager of the entire cocoa industry in Ghana.

Why did you choose to take this course?

My current position brings with it a massively, dynamic environment that requires grit and tact to handle – in order to grow positively, in the industry and to position my country for utmost benefits from such an important cash crop. Such a goal requires training that best prepares me for its impact, hence, my application.

What are you looking forward to most about the course?

The opportunity to gain practical skills and establish a network for sharing ideas and growing.

What would you say are your most interesting or noteworthy achievements, professionally?

I am an advocate who has the privilege of changing communities on a daily basis. There is nothing more rewarding than that.

Why did you choose to take this course?

I am having an operation on my foot and must sit still for 8 weeks. That is something I can’t do. When I saw this opportunity to learn to be an even better leader, I jumped at it, (while I can still jump).

What are you looking forward to most about the course?

Meeting other leaders and exploring new ways of leading together to change the world.

What message would you like to give to your future classmates and support network?

Can’t wait to meet you and be inspired by your lives and experiences.

What is at the top of your bucket list?

My top was hiking in Patagonia and that I did in March 2018. Next is visiting Slovakia in April 2019. I’m a world traveller and decided very early in life that I will always value experiences above gathering material things.
